Doing Business with Transtar

Q. How can I open an account with Transtar?

A. New customers need only fill out a New Account Application that includes bank account information and credit references. With your good credit, an open account will be established with a credit line that meets your purchasing needs.

Q. How can I pay for my Transtar purchases?

A. Your method of payment will be established when your account is set up. Transtar offers these payment options, all in U.S. currency: C.O.D., check, or any one of the following credit cards: MasterCard, Visa, and Discover.

Invoices are shipped with your order. Customers with open account terms receive easy-to-read statements that are mailed on the first business day of each month. Terms are Prox 15.

Q. Does Transtar put a "hold" on my credit or debit card purchases?

A. Transtar DOES NOT put “holds” or “blocks” on customer credit or debit cards. Your credit card company or bank may place a hold or block on your account, based on their policy or practice - Transtar has no control over these policies or practices.  Questions or concerns about these holds or blocks should be directed to your credit card company or bank.

Q. What does Prox 15 mean?

A. Simply, orders invoiced in one month are due on or before the 15th of the following month; i.e. if you were invoiced on March 1, that amount is due on or before April 15.

Accounts not paid in full by the due date are subject to a service charge at the highest rate allowed by law.

Transtar has grown by successfully satisfying value-conscious customers with competitive prices based on purchase volume. All prices are based on F.O.B. shipping point.

Q. What is Transtar's warranty and return policy?

A. Transtar's limited warranty and return policy includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Only defective parts or parts shipped in error by Transtar will be considered for a return.
  • All returns must be made within 30 days of date of purchase. Contact your sales representative for pre-approval and authorization.
  • A UPS call tag will be issued on all authorized returns, defective parts or shipping errors only, within 48 hours of your call.
  • The return will be inspected and all parts considered defective or shipped in error, in our judgment, will be fully credited at purchase price. If, in our judgment, the part is not defective or not in error by us, credit will be issued less a service charge (15% of the purchase price). If credit is not in order, you will be notified with a full explanation. Special order items are non-returnable.
  • All information concerning the return must be included as required by the terms of our limited warranty.
Transtar Industries, Inc. Limited Warranty
All products supplied are warranted to be free from manufacturing defect. Any and all parts claimed defective must be returned prepaid freight for inspection with a written explanation of how they were installed and operated. Liability is limited strictly to the replacement of parts only, and no claims for labor or consequential damages will be accepted. Except for such replacement, the sale, use or any other handling of our products is without liability or warranty whatsoever. No liability will be accepted for misuse, negligence or abuse causing damage, defect, injury or loss. All returns must have prior company approval and authorization.
