Transtar Announces the Mission Possible Photo Scavenger Hunt Winners

12/16/2011
CLEVELAND, OHIO – Transtar Industries, Inc., the premier provider of world-class driveline solutions, announces the winners of their Mission Possible Photo Scavenger Hunt. Presented to the attendees of the 19th annual Powertrain Expo, hosted by Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association (ATRA), this activity gave Transtar the opportunity to showcase a variety of benefits they provide to their customers.

A play off the popular trilogy Mission: Impossible, Transtar’s 2011 advertising campaign, Mission Possible, centers on challenges transmission shops face every day to accomplish their mission – getting customers back on the road as quickly as possible. The visuals of the campaign include everything from fire and explosions to helicopters.

“With the Mission Possible Photo Scavenger Hunt, Transtar was able to bring our campaign to life,” said Jim Berry, Vice President of Marketing at Transtar. “Attendees of the Powertrain Expo this year were surrounded by the theme music from Mission: Impossible and given the option to complete missions. It was enticing and a great way for Transtar to illustrate that we are doing everything we can to help fulfill our customers’ mission, whether they rebuild, repair or replace.”

The Mission Possible Photo Scavenger Hunt consisted of five missions. Missions included taking pictures with a Transtar team member and having a picture taken at different places in the Las Vegas Hilton. If an attendee completed a mission, they were entered into a random drawing. If an attendee completed all five missions, they were entered into the grand prize drawing.

For the grand prize drawing, Transtar gave the option of a bonus mission – which could be used if, for any reason, one of the missions could not be completed. This mission consisted of visiting a number of displaying vendors.

“It is encouraging to know that so many attendees participated in Transtar’s photo scavenger hunt,” says Tom DeMille, Vice President of Sales and Branch Operations at Transtar. “Those who participated displayed tremendous enthusiasm. We view the pictures we received as keepsakes from a great expo.”

The grand prize winner, who won an Apple MacBook Pro, was Peter Fink of Certified Transmission, in Omaha, Nebraska. “The activity was a lot of fun,” said Peter. “What better way to meet and get to know the people we speak to on a regular basis than have your picture taken with them.”

The drawing prize winners, who each won an Apple iPad2, are Jonathan Becker of Cloquet Automotive Inc. in Cloquet, Minnesota ; Greg Doran of J&M’s Automatic Transmission Clinic in Provo, Utah; Jarad Warren of AAMCO Transmissions in Tigard, Oregon; Wendy Hage of Hage-Kobany Transmissions in Columbia Heights, Minnesota; and Melinda Kriner of Cottman Transmission in Vancouver, Washington.

The 2011 Powertrain Expo was the first expo that drawing prize winner, Jonathan Becker, has ever been to. “The scavenger hunt provided additional entertainment at the expo,” adds Becker. “It was an exciting challenge to track down Transtar team members. I left Las Vegas with a smile and new ideas to help our business grow.”

The Powertrain Expo was held Thursday, October 27 through Monday, October 31 in Las Vegas. With approximately 600 attendees ranging from ATRA member shops to industry suppliers, the Powertrain Expo featured seminars focusing on a range of technical and management topics.

Drawing prize winner, Jarad Warren, was another newcomer to the Powertrain Expo this year. “I will certainly be attending more Powertrain Expos in the future,” says Warren. “Not only did I enjoy my time, I learned more in those four days than I have learned in two years at the bench.”

“Congratulations to the winners of the Mission Possible Photo Scavenger Hunt and thank you to all who participated,” said Neil Sethi, President of Transtar’s Driveline Distribution Group. “We greatly appreciate your support and look forward to introducing new exciting activities in the future.”
